Tasting Notes

30 Years of GLB

On February 10th we welcomed a number of our friends in the craft beer business to whip up a special IPA (Independent Pale Ale) for our 30th anniversary. Brewers and brewery owners from Muskoka, Amsterdam, Wellington, Sawdust City, Indie Ale House, MacLeans Ales, Cheshire Valley, Steam Whistle, Beau’s All Natural, Big Rig, Cameron’s and more, showed up ready to lend a hand; and lend a hand indeed as each brewery helped mash in.

From hard work comes good things and “The Brewers IPA (Independent Pale Ale)” was born. Using fresh crop Mosaic and Citra hops, the final product is a beauty. Hazy golden in colour with incredible aromas consisting of grapefruit, pineapple, mango and some big hop dankness. Light to medium body with medium carbonation, The Brewers IPA (Independent Pale Ale) tastes like swimming in a pool full of fresh Citra and Mosaic hops with Lackey acting as the lifeguard. Tropical fruit, candied orange and pineapple notes keep you raising your glass, which helps cheat your Fitbit. Very dry finish… as Drunk Polkaroo would say, “Crushable”.
