GLB Welcomes Lee Ecclestone to the GLB Family

Great Lakes Brewery (GLB) is pleased to welcome Lee Ecclestone to our growing sales team as he assumes the role of Territory Account Manager, for Southwest Ontario, effective immediately. Ecclestone, a resident of Guelph, Ontario and a veteran in the craft beer and cider industry, will be responsible for on-premise sales in areas west such as Milton, Guelph, Kitchener/Waterloo, Hamilton, London, Windsor and places in-between.

Ecclestone most recently put in years at Pommies Cider, helping grow their distribution in both licensee and retail channels. Previous to Pommies Ecclestone cut his teeth in the industry representing F & M Brewery and was known for his good natured sales approach and his focus on teamwork. Ecclestone’s enthusiasm, passion for craft beer, and his experience with craft producers (in both channels) aligns perfectly with our experienced sales team. His goal, with help from GLB, will be to develop long-lasting relationships with accounts in the region, getting more and more beer to our amazing supporters.

Please join us in welcoming Lee Ecclestone to the team with a can or two, or a pitcher, of #FreshGLB.

Lee can be contacted at [email protected] or by cell 519.993.1833. You can also follow him on Twitter at @LeeEcclestone.

Now, let’s get to know Lee a little better so you have something to chat with him about when you see him out and about:

Provide a short bio
Born and raised in Guelph, I now live three blocks away from where I grew up. I graduated with a Sport Management Degree from Brock University (Honestly, who actually works in the field they graduated from?). I have been working in the craft beverage industry for nearly eight years and I am excited to have joined the GLB team.

Beer Schwing! Seeing George Eagleson on the logo puts a smile on my face before I even take a sip.

What do you do in your free time?
I’m a goalie. Many people think that goalies are a different breed. It’s true… I also love golf, back country camping, and going to see live music. When I’m at home, you can find me working around the house with a GLB can in hand.

Best part of working in the beer industry
It’s all about the people. Craft beer people work their butt off and know how to have fun doing it. Work hard, play hard.

What did you do last Summer?
Last Summer was highlighted by a two week trip to Nova Scotia. I saw Matt Mays in concert, went fishing and shucked oysters straight out of the ocean, drove the Cabot trail and stayed in a yurt… and went tidal bore rafting in the Bay of Fundy.

You could have a beer with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
Will Ferrell. No one makes me laugh as hard as that guy. It would be tough to not let the beer come back up through my nose.

Cage match – Gordie vs. Octo. Roland vs. Morty Jenkinson?
Gordie all the way. The Avengers are going to call on him to beat Thanos in the next movie.
