Great Lakes Brewery Beatrix Baltic Porter

Beatrix Baltic Porter

650ml Bottle: $7.95

View details

(2017/18) Last batch brewed for the 30th Anniversary... Brewed with coffee and cocoa nibs. Deep brown in colour, bordering on black, with an attractive tan head. Huge notes of coffee upon first whiff which gives way to delicate cocoa. Deceptively smooth mouthfeel considering it's 7.4% girth, Beatrix offers flavours of refined coffee, sweet chocolate and a touch of roasted peanuts. Only a slight awareness of the warming alcohol... which tingles the heart.

Canuck pours a deep gold, bordering on burnt orange that produces a tight snowy white toque. Take one last nose before getting into the liquid, which you’ll soon find will be hard to put down. Soft carbonation leads into a sweet honeyish start before it gives way to more grapefruit, tropical citrus, canned peaches and pine. Light to medium body with a very dry finish. Drink at your local pub, in the fish hut, campground, the beach, in a canoe (responsibly), playing shinny, on a log…actually, anywhere north of the 49th.

Great Lakes Brewery Octopus Wants To Fight IPA

Octopus Wants To Fight IPA

Case: $72.00 | Tallboy: $3.25

View details

Our pet octopus is a bit of a jerk. He’s that guy who has a couple then either tells you how much he loves you or threatens to fight you. So we brewed this IPA, with 8 varieties of hops and 8 types of malt. We targeted 88 IBU and 8.8% to appease him. Sadly, when he found out that we’d fabricated all of the above info, it only made him more volatile. We are starting to realize that Octopus was a poor choice for a pet.

New England IPA - Bordering in appearance of a glass of unfiltered pineapple juice, Voodoo HazeMama pours yellow in colour with a hint of orange peering through and is capped by a snowy white crown. Aromas of ripe pineapple, kiwi, tangerine and sweet cotton candy, joining some warming alcohol notes, thus showcasing the girth of this 7.2% NEIPA and the Galaxy and Mosaic hops. Tipping back Voodoo provides wonderful flavours of peach, lemon and a touch of raw honey, complemented by a stroke of soft alcohol that numbs the gums. Creamy, yet aggressively bitter. Assertive yet easy to drink. Rock on Voodoo HazeMama.

Great Lakes Brewery Miami Weiss White Pale Ale

Miami Weiss White Pale Ale

5oz Draft: $2.00 | 12oz Draft: $5.00

View details

Okay, we're busted! We're calling this beer a weiss; it's not! We're suggesting it's from Miami; we've never even been there. Confused? So are we. What we know is it is an American style take on a traditional German wheat beer - A Pale Wheat. Rather than a mild hop presence, this baby is packed with Pacific Northwest hops. It's made with a pale ale yeast which doesn't produce the same banana flavour you find in German weiss beers. We also know that it goes down smooth and tastes terrific. So, what's with the name Miami Weiss? It's just something the guys in marketing came up with.
