As Far Back As I Can Remember

Case: $78.00 | Tallboy: $3.50

A NE IPA made on the 7 Barrel system. As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a ... hipster. The tight jeans that don't reach my ankles. No socks no matter the weather. Selfies. Labradoddles. Biking without a helmet and sipping my fancy pants drinks in Trinity Bellwoods Park. I'm living the dream.

The beer is mahogany in colour with some ruby red hues shining through under the tan head. Aromas of dried fruits, plums and a touch of warming alcohol. Much the same in taste: dried fruits, cherry and plum, sweet malt with soft notes of vanilla and toffee. The Bourbon barrels that were used to age this beer for one year give the barley wine a lot of character, which comes through nice

Great Lakes Brewery Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Solstice (2019)

Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Solstice (2019)

500ml Bottle: $11.95

View details

Pours midnight black with a tight (and we mean tight) mocha tan head. Menacing indeed. Aromas of charcoal, vanilla, treacle, espresso and alcohol leap from the glass with each gentle swirl. The first drink offers a reminder of the girth of this beer, as notes of bourbon, chocolate, molasses and fig pack a wallop. Each subsequent sip leads to newfound discoveries of vanilla and coffee, wood and anise. Velvety smooth yet noticeable boozy, this full-bodied stout packs a delicate balance between sweetness, bitterness and barrel. Well rounded, complex and dangerous. Best enjoyed with friends and enemies alike.

Great Lakes Brewery Canuck Pale Ale

Canuck Pale Ale

Case: $54.00 | Tallboy: $2.80

View details

The minute you crack your can, aroma of grapefruit, mango and pine hit you in the face; like a beaver slapping his tail on a pristine small body of water in Ontario. Canuck pours a deep gold, bordering on burnt orange that produces a tight snowy white toque. Take one last nose before getting into the liquid, which you’ll soon find will be hard to put down. Soft carbonation leads into a sweet honeyish start before it gives way to more grapefruit, tropical citrus, canned peaches and pine. Light to medium body with a very dry finish. Lake Effect IPA

Case: $72.00 | Tallboy: $3.25

Great Lakes Brewery Octopus Wants To Fight IPA

Octopus Wants To Fight IPA

Case: $72.00 | Tallboy: $3.25

View details

Our pet octopus is a bit of a jerk. He’s that guy who has a couple then either tells you how much he loves you or threatens to fight you. So we brewed this IPA, with 8 varieties of hops and 8 types of malt. We targeted 88 IBU and 8.8% to appease him. Sadly, when he found out that we’d fabricated all of the above info, it only made him more volatile. We are starting to realize that Octopus was a poor choice for a pet.

Olde Man Lackey (Olde Ale)

Case: $78.00 | Tallboy: $3.50

View details

To celebrate Mike Lackey's 50 years roaming this planet, a bunch of brewers, some who even consider him a friend, came together at GLB back in December to collaborate on this here Olde Ale, a style of beer befitting a fine gentlemen like Lackey. The 8.7% treat pours with a lovely mahogany hue, bordering on a ripe plum. The tan coloured head is perched atop the liquid like a crown, much like Lackey's well worn toque(s). Aromas of plum, raisin and other dried fruits complement flavours of prune, treacle and a touch of an autumn leaf. Like Lackey ghosting at a party, this one won't stick around that long. *This fine beer, just like Lackey, will only get better with age.
