Beatrix Baltic Porter

650ml Bottle: $7.95

View details

(2017/18) Last batch brewed for the 30th Anniversary... Brewed with coffee and cocoa nibs. Deep brown in colour, bordering on black, with an attractive tan head. Huge notes of coffee upon first whiff which gives way to delicate cocoa. Deceptively smooth mouthfeel considering it's 7.4% girth, Beatrix offers flavours of refined coffee, sweet chocolate and a touch of roasted peanuts. Only a slight awareness of the warming alcohol... which tingles the heart.

Great Lakes Brewery Canuck Pale Ale

Canuck Pale Ale

Case: $54.00 | Tallboy: $2.80

View details

The minute you crack your can, aroma of grapefruit, mango and pine hit you in the face; like a beaver slapping his tail on a pristine small body of water in Ontario. Canuck pours a deep gold, bordering on burnt orange that produces a tight snowy white toque. Take one last nose before getting into the liquid, which you’ll soon find will be hard to put down. Soft carbonation leads into a sweet honeyish start before it gives way to more grapefruit, tropical citrus, canned peaches and pine. Light to medium body with a very dry finish. Drink at your local pub, in the fish hut, campground, the beach, in a canoe (responsibly), playing shinny, on a log…actually, anywhere north of the 49th.

Great Lakes Brewery Loral Lager

Loral Lager

Case: $60.00 | Tallboy: $2.80

View details

The Loral hop has all of the floral and herbal notes normally associated with a noble European variety that is well-suited for lagers. They make us giddy with their uniquely sweet aroma, and citrus and earthy notes, which are traits more common in American varieties. Not that we're American. Or sweet. Or citrusy. Well... maybe some of those things.

Great Lakes Brewery Meanwhile... Down In Moxee

Meanwhile... Down In Moxee

Case: $78.00 | Tallboy: $3.50

View details

Not too far from the hustle and bustle of the relatively cosmopolitan Yakima Washington, rests the town of Moxee. It is home to a post office, a laundromat, and one heck of a terrific Teriyaki restaurant. Also (and with significantly more relevance to this overly-wordy write up you’re reading), Moxee is the hometown of the El Dorado hop, which we feature in this here IPA. The hazy IPA pours a milkshakey orange with some whiteness of the suspended yeast peering through. Huge aromas of mango, nectarines, lychee and strawberry abound from the glass and get those saliva glands kicking into high gear. The first sip, and each gulp thereafter, all provide flavours of tangerine and peach, with some kiwi and mango notes...

Great Lakes Brewery Miami Weiss White Pale Ale

Miami Weiss White Pale Ale

Case: $60.00 | Tallboy: $3.00

View details

Okay, we're busted! We're calling this beer a weiss; it's not! We're suggesting it's from Miami; we've never even been there. Confused? So are we. What we know is it is an American style take on a traditional German wheat beer - A Pale Wheat. Rather than a mild hop presence, this baby is packed with Pacific Northwest hops. It's made with a pale ale yeast which doesn't produce the same banana flavour you find in German weiss beers. We also know that it goes down smooth and tastes terrific. So, what's with the name Miami Weiss? It's just something the guys in marketing came up with.

Great Lakes Brewery Octopus Wants To Fight IPA

Octopus Wants To Fight IPA

Case: $72.00 | Tallboy: $3.25

View details

Our pet octopus is a bit of a jerk. He’s that guy who has a couple then either tells you how much he loves you or threatens to fight you. So we brewed this IPA, with 8 varieties of hops and 8 types of malt. We targeted 88 IBU and 8.8% to appease him. Sadly, when he found out that we’d fabricated all of the above info, it only made him more volatile. We are starting to realize that Octopus was a poor choice for a pet.

Great Lakes Brewery RoboHop Imperial IPA

RoboHop Imperial IPA

Tallboy: $5.00

View details

As a child, RoboHop was shunned for his laser beam eyeballs, bulbous hop-shaped torso and robotic limbs. During adolescence however, things changed for our hero. He captained his high school hockey team, routinely took over dance floors and , thusly, garnered a lot of attention from female classmates. Today, RoboHop battles blandness by making this killer-hoppy and bracingly-bitter beer. Suffer.
