Here and There
Mahogany with ruby red hues shine through under the tan head. Aromas of dried fruits, plums and a touch of warming alcohol join with soft notes of cherry, vanilla, and toffee in the flavour. The Bourbon barrels used to age this beer for one year give the barley wine a lot of character, which comes through nicely in the finish.
While tasty right now, Beard of Zeus is brewed for aging for up to five years.
Meat pies, lamb shank, caramel cheesecake, butter tarts, and Stilton with dried fruits and nuts
The first ever release of Beard of Zeus was in 2013 and has made only a handful of appearances since. A transformation of this Olympian barley wine must take place in bourbon barrels for more than a year before each unveiling.
Despite it's rarity, Beard of Zeus has presided over the GLB pantheon as one of the most mighty bourbon barrel-aged titans ever conceived, and has enough fortitude to be aged for up to 5 years.
