Hazy burnt orange in colour, this true-to-style English Style Bitter emits aromas of sweet toffee, molasses and orange pith. Despite the name, Monty ESB low in bitterness, and has notes of black tea and subtle citrus, making for a medium-bodied, bready finish.

Full-flavoured, yet moreish, Monty ESB is perfect for when you need a short break from big North American IPAs.

Bangers and mash, apple crumble, steak, and kidney pie.

Monty’s ESB has a floral and slightly earthy hop aroma and flavour. Despite the reference to bitterness in the name, ESB’s tend not to be as bitter as people unfamiliar with the style expect. ESB is traditional English style and it is bitter when compared to other styles typical of the time when it started being to be produced (i.e. not as bitter as a modern IPA). The medium-low bitterness is balanced with a bready and slightly sweet malt character with notes of light caramel or toffee.
