A COLLABORATION WITH A BIG GOAL: A SAFE AND DISCRIMINATION-FREE BEER INDUSTRY.
Brave Noise is advocating for safe spaces and inclusive environments by requesting breweries be transparent with their policies and commit to long-term work.
What started out as a simple question on Brienne Allan’s Instagram story:
“Have you ever experienced sexism in the beer industry?” … quickly became the inquiry that sent shockwaves throughout craft beer, subsequently inspiring a BEVOLUTION. To keep the momentum going; to honor those who have spoken out about their gender discrimination, racism, sexual assault, and harassment; and to bring further awareness to the issues that women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ individuals face in craft beer, we invite you to join us in a collaborative brew titled “Brave Noise.”
The Brew day on Thursday, March 3:
The entire day will start at 9:30am on the GLB Instagram posts, stories and live. Hosted by GLB’s very own, April. We’ll closely follow the women at GLB, and brewer Nick Perry during the entire process. Nick will talk about the malt bill, and is doing a hop rub so we can smell the different hops. Will be educational, no doubt.
Next up, Cole – our lab guy – will be speaking on Kviek yeast and the strain we are using for Brave Noise. Science forward content FTW! This is super cool and compelling stuff and a ‘Must Watch’ for Beer nerds.
Throughout the day, April will speak to all the amazing GLB women taking part. We’ll get to know our staffers in a variety of departments. Yes, we’ll want to know what this Brave Noise Brew Day means to them, but also get to know the people who make GLB run day to day.
GLB staffer Denise will interview Khadija from Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter. EWS does amazing work in our community and this info needs to be heard and shared. As part of the Brave Noise Brew Day we are hosting a Community Donation Drive for Ernestine’s. More on that below…
Next up, it’s GLB staffer Katy with a long awaited update on the GLB BrewPub. Let’s Goooo! Looking forward to getting a sneak peek of the menu items, current job opportunities, and other cool updates direct from Katy.
Next Up, with have some royalty… the Queen of Craft is coming on to speak about what they do for the beer community. This will no doubt be super compelling and informative. Beer wisdom by women.
April will also host many segments around the brewery. Sneak peaks and guided tours of the GLB production facility, retail store and taproom are all on tap!
Tune in on Instagram, share, and donate if you can. Thank you for the support.
