GLB HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE

GLB will be hosting a Food Drive on Saturday December 12, encouraging customers to stop by the brewery with non-perishable food items between 11am – 4pm.

Staff from the brewery will be on-site (outside) to safely gather donations from the GLB parking lot and will be sorting food into bins that will eventually be delivered to Daily Bread. Our staff will also be accepting monetary donations as well, should you wish to help out.

“Food bank use has risen dramatically over the past few months due to the impact of COVID-19. Now more than ever, the support of our community partners is essential to ensure that Torontonians in need of food have a place to turn to as we head into the winter months”, says Neil Hetherington, CEO, Daily Bread Food Bank

“We are grateful to our friends at Great Lakes Brewery for their continuous support of Daily Bread Food Bank through the Hops for Hunger campaign.”

Any customer that makes a donation of 20lbs or more will get a complimentary (paid for) 4 pack of GLB beer and the sincere thanks of a grateful brewery .

“We’d love to fill a truck during the Food Drive,” says Peter Bulut, Owner of GLB.

The food drive will be adhering to social distancing protocols. Staff will be wearing masks and gloves and sanitizer will be provided. There will be a barrier between customers and staff, but we encourage everyone to wear a mask while onsite (outside).

But it doesn’t stop after December 12.

Throughout the month, GLB is also encouraging customers shopping in person at the brewery retail store to donate non-perishable food items, along with baby food and diapers. Customers can drop items in the yellow Daily Bread collection bin located within the store and GLB will ensure they are delivered to Daily Bread at the conclusion of the Hops for Hunger campaign.
