Ok, ok! We got the hint! After fifteen years of small batch brewing, prestigious awards, LCBO appearances and generally refusing to go away, Karma Citra IPA is officially joining the GLB core lineup.
Some beers are brewed once, disappear into the archives and are occasionally mentioned by someone who was there, but Karma Citra IPA is not one of those beers. First brewed in 2011 on the tiny Project X homebrew system, Karma Citra won the 3rd Annual IPA Challenge at barVolo before picking up Gold at the Canadian Brewing Awards the following year.
In 2014, Karma Citra made its LCBO debut in 650mL silk-screened bottles and took Silver in the IPA category at the Canadian Brewing Awards, alongside GLB’s THRUST! an IPA (Gold) and My Bitter Wife IPA (Bronze), giving GLB a rather satisfying sweep of the category. Since then, Karma Citra has continued to make regular appearances as a Tank Ten seasonal release, including a spot in the Good Karma Mix Pack in 2023.

And now, after more than 15 years of Good Karma, it’s officially joining the GLB core lineup.
For those of you who don’t know, Karma Citra is a bright, hop-forward IPA built around Citra hops, with the citrusy, tropical character you’d expect and the kind of drinkability that has kept it in the conversation of IPA drinkers of IPA fans across the province.

2011 - FIRST BREW
Karma Citra is first brewed on the tiny project X home-brew system and won the 3rd annual IPA Challenge at barVolo.
2012 - GOLD!
Karma Citra wins Gold at the Canadian Brewing Awards. This 2012 success set the stage for GLB to be named Canada’s national Brewery of the Year back-to-back in 2013 and 2014
2014 - BOTTLES, LCBO, AND MORE AWARDS
Karma Citra IPA is first put into 650ml silk screened bottles for the official LCBO seasonal (Tank Ten) release, and won silver in the IPA category along with 2 other GLB IPAs (Gold: THRUST! an IPA, Silver: Karma Citra IPA, Bronze: My Bitter Wife IPA) in a category sweep.

Karma Citra continues to make a seasonal appearance every summer at the LCBO while it’s branding evolves.

2026 - FULL TIME KARMA
Karma Citra makes the jump to our core lineup, and we celebrate with an official full-time launch party at The Loose Moose in downtown Toronto.
