The Ultimate Gordie Collection

Published June 24, 2021

It has been said that Gordie Levesque, the fun lovin’ fearless lumberjack who graces every can of Canuck Pale Ale, can be seen doing very typical Canadian activities.

So, we’ve created 24 unique labels showing Gordie engaged in these activities, plus a few throwback labels from 2010 and 2011. Cases of 355ml cans will feature all 24 labels and will hit the GLB retail store and online shop today (June 24) at 4pm for a limited time.

From lumberjackin’ to paintin’, canoein’ to mowing the grass with a beverage or four by his side, Gordie and his trusty Canuck Pale Ale stay busy pursuing his hobbies, eh! The Ultimate Gordie Collection: Collect them all.

Let’s take a look at all 24 labels…

1. Current Canuck Pale Ale
It’s been said that Canada is the only country in the world that knows how to live without an identity. This beer doesn’t help much with that. From the fiercely irresponsible stereotypical image on the front of the can to the distinctly American style of the beer inside it, we’ve really made a mess of things. What have we done? Sorry.

2. Canuck Pale Ale – 2010
The original artwork for your favourite pale ale. Released in 2010 for the Vancouver Winter Olympics, this version (with ski’s) was the winter label, and a summer label featured a cap and a loon. Both were used for 650ml bottles. The look was phased out in 2011 with the introduction of Crazy Canuck and 473ml painted cans.

3. Crazy Canuck – 2011
As indicated on the can in 2011 – Our version of a west coast pale ale pushes the boundaries much like the Crazy Canucks of the past. We’ve brewed it for those who enjoy adventure and a departure from the ordinary. The result is a wildly hoppy aroma and lingering bitterness complemented by a soft bready malt flavour. Raise your glass to the Great White North! This label was introduced in 2011 when Crazy Canuck became a year-round brand. It was retired in 2014 when Gordie Levesque was created.
